About the Author

So, I'm not a professional restaurant critic and my palette isn't insured for a million dollars. I'm just a guy who loves Raleigh and loves to eat good food. And, my favorite thing to do is to tell people about great places to go and see in Raleigh. It seems like I'm always giving directions or restaurant suggestions to my friends, so it seemed reasonable to start a website to share it with more people in the Raleigh area.

I'm a Raleigh native and I think there are a lot of independently owned restaurants that get overlooked. Usually, you'll find that my favorite restaurants are not part of a chain, but sometimes there are exceptions. My favorite foods are bread, bbq sauce, and seafood. I also think that mayonnaise is the worst invention known to man. I grew up with some of the best southern food you can get, so southern themed restaurants have a really high standard to compete against.

I try to stay abreast of all the new restaurants opening in the area and I do my best to visit each one. I haven't been to every restaurant in Raleigh, but it's safe to say that I've been to most of them. I hope that you will be able to find your new favorite place on this site.
